These Terms of Use govern your use of Authorial. By accessing or using Authorial, you agree to these terms.
1. Service Overview
Authorial provides a professional editorial environment for writers, including versioned manuscript management, analysis tools, and optional AI‑assisted features.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Authorial. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
3. Your Content
You retain ownership of your manuscripts and files. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to upload and process your content.
You grant Authorial a limited license to process your content solely to provide the service (e.g., syncing, indexing, building, or analysis you request).
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for illegal activities.
- Upload content that violates the rights of others.
- Attempt to interfere with or reverse engineer the service.
- Bypass security or access controls.
5. Third‑Party Services
Authorial integrates with third‑party services. By using Authorial, you agree to comply with those providers’ terms, including but not limited to:
- GitHub (authentication and repository sync)
- Stripe (billing)
- OpenAI (AI analysis and/or image generation)
- Anthropic (AI analysis)
- Stable Diffusion (optional BYO local or remote inference endpoint, if configured)
6. AI Features
AI features are optional and invoked by you. Authorial does not claim ownership of AI outputs. You are responsible for reviewing all outputs before use.
7. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your GitHub account. If you believe your account is compromised, notify us immediately.
8. Billing
Paid plans are processed via Stripe. Subscription terms, renewals, and cancellations are handled according to the plan selected. Taxes may apply.
9. Disclaimers
Authorial is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error‑free. You use Authorial at your own risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Authorial shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to Authorial if you violate these terms or misuse the service.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. If changes are material, we will update the effective date.
